How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

General Overview

Linki believes that fundamental privacy rights should not vary depending on where you live in the world. Accordingly, regardless of where a natural person resides, Linki treats any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person—particularly the person’s name, identification information, location data, online identifiers, or data specific to that person’s physical, physiological, genetic, or psychological characteristics, or related data—as “personal information.”

We collect only the information needed for specific, concrete, explicit, and lawful purposes, and we ensure that your information is not further processed in a manner incompatible with those purposes. If we intend to use your personal information for any other purpose not expressly stated in this Privacy Policy, we will obtain your consent again.

We collect your personal information in the following three ways: (1) information you provide directly to us (for example, your nickname, profile picture, name, and telephone number that you voluntarily provide when logging into your account or participating in marketing activities organized by us); (2) information generated during your use of the Software that we collect through automated means (for example, device information and service log information); and (3) information we obtain from other sources.

You have the right to choose whether to provide personal information when using Linki products or services or when we request it. You are not required to provide personal information to Linki. However, in some circumstances, if you choose not to provide it, Linki may be unable to provide the relevant products or services or to respond to or resolve the issues you encounter. We collect and use your personal information only for the purposes described in this Policy. Examples of the personal information we collect are set out below:

Linki’s Main Business Functions and Collection and Use Scenarios

The main business function of the Software is to provide you with supporting smart-device management services.

Providing Account Login Services

To help you make fuller use of the functions and services of the Software, you may log in to the Services through a third-party account service (such as Trans ID). For the foregoing purpose, we will obtain your username, profile picture, nickname, and User ID. If you refuse to provide this information, you will be unable to register a Linki account or use the related functions, but this will not affect your normal use of other Linki functions.

Providing Smart-Device Management Services

Device Connection

Linki provides management services for specified smart devices. When you connect a device, the device and the Software must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. To carry out your connection instruction, we need to obtain the Wi-Fi information of your phone and device. This information is processed locally only and will not be uploaded to the server. To discover nearby Bluetooth devices for pairing, we need to access your Bluetooth permission and location permission. If you add a device by scanning a code, you must also grant camera permission so that we can scan and recognize the code and connect and bind the device. If you refuse to grant the foregoing permissions, we will be unable to provide device connection services.

While you use smart-device services, we will obtain your device’s battery level and volume settings for you to view and manage. This information is processed locally only and will not be uploaded to the server.

Smart-Device Binding, Control, Management, and Troubleshooting Functions

To enable smart-device binding, control, management, and troubleshooting functions, Linki needs to collect the following information:

Device identifiers and network information: device identifiers (including DEVID), variable device identifiers, SN, IDFV, device hardware information, MAC address, IP address, device data, operating system, system settings information, basic application information, system logs, network information, SSID, and BSSID;

Device status and operating data: device status information and operating records, device storage capacity, CPU load, memory allocation, and I/O throughput;

IoT smart-device sensor information: water leakage, smoke, temperature, humidity, presence of persons, detection of entry into and exit from an area, the position of a person relative to a sensor, and intrusion events;

Location information: precise location information is read and used locally only;

We collect this information to bind smart devices; control and manage devices; set device properties and parameters; view device operating status and history; conduct statistics, reviews, and research on the operating status of devices and services; and improve the quality of smart devices and services.

Dashboard Function

We have added a dashboard module to the home page to display device storage status. Based on the usage of your device’s built-in and external hard drives, the dashboard displays used and remaining storage space, including system-used data, NAS private-space data, and family shared-space data.

Album Management Services

Upload, Share, Download, and Delete Services

Linki provides album (including video) upload and download services. Through the personal album (including videos) and family-sharing scenarios under the Services, you may manage uploads, downloads, favorites, sharing, and deletion. When you use this function, we need you to grant local file read/write and storage permissions.

You may stop our collection of your information at any time by revoking Linki’s system authorization to read/write or store your local files. You may then be unable to use upload- or download-related services or functions, but this will not affect your normal use of other Linki business functions that do not rely on the foregoing permissions. Files you upload will be encrypted in transit and stored on the server. You may stop our storage of the relevant information at any time by deleting the files.

Automatic Backup Service

You may choose whether to enable the automatic backup function. When you actively enable the automatic backup service to back up your album (including videos), we need you to grant local file read/write and storage permissions, location permission, and permissions related to auto-start in order to provide backup services. Automatically backed-up files will be encrypted in transit and stored on the server. You may manage your data at any time by disabling automatic backup or deleting backed-up files.

You may disable the automatic backup function at any time by: (1) revoking Linki’s system authorization to read or store your files; or (2) disabling automatic backup under [Personal Album – Automatic Backup Settings] on Android, or disabling album automatic backup under [Personal Album – Automatic Backup Settings] on iOS;

If you enable automatic backup, you may also choose to grant location and auto-start related permissions (where supported by your device system), so that Linki can provide more timely automatic backup services. Once these permissions are enabled, Linki will provide timely and effective backup services at a reasonable frequency while running in the background, based on the network conditions and file types you select for automatic backup. If you do not grant the foregoing permissions, you will only be unable to use the more timely background automatic backup function; your normal use of other Linki functions and services will not be affected. Automatically backed-up files will be encrypted in transit and stored on the server. You may manage your data at any time by disabling automatic backup or deleting backed-up files.

Intelligent Function Services

Intelligent image classification. To help you find and manage images more effectively, Linki uses AI technology to recognize and automatically classify, locally on your device, labels for elements in your images, including people, scenes/objects, and documents. Facial data is sensitive personal information. Face grouping and recognition are processed locally on the device, and original images are not uploaded to the server. You may add labels to images in your album (such as portraits and scenes), enabling you to quickly find the images you need through search (for example, by entering: people wearing sunglasses at the beach last year). If you need to disable intelligent image classification, you may do so under [Device – Device Management – Device Configuration – Local AI]. Once disabled, the related functions will no longer be available.

Family Management and Device Sharing Services

We support sharing smart devices with others through Linki accounts. Sharing a smart device with another person gives that person control of the device, including the ability to manage album uploads, downloads, favorites, sharing, and deletion. To use this function, we collect your account ID, the account ID you provide for sharing, and information about the shared device (device ID, device name, device verification key, and sharing status). This enables users of other Linki accounts with whom you share the device to jointly control and use it and allows the sharing status to be displayed on the device list page. We use this information to allow you to share device control and usage permissions with other users and to display the device’s sharing status on the device page. You may remove, add, or otherwise manage shared accounts at any time through [Device – Device Panel – Remove Member].

Improving Our Products or Services

If an abnormal event, such as a software crash, occurs while the Linki software services are running, we will record and upload the relevant error logs to analyze and fix the issue.

How We Process Children’s Personal Information

We understand the importance of protecting children’s personal information. Therefore, children under the age of 14, or under the equivalent age prescribed by the laws of your jurisdiction (the standards for determining a child’s age vary among countries and regions, and we will define children primarily in accordance with the laws and regulations of the country or region in which the relevant business operates), may use our products or services only with the permission and guidance of their legal guardian and where permitted by applicable laws and regulations. In principle, we do not provide services directly to children, do not actively collect children’s personal data, and do not use children’s personal information for marketing purposes. We collect, use, and disclose children’s personal information only with the express permission and consent of the child’s guardian, where permitted by law and where collecting such information is genuinely necessary. If a guardian needs at any time to access, amend, or delete personal information relating to a child under their guardianship, please contact us as described in this Policy, and we will respond promptly. If you discover that we have collected information relating to a child without the knowledge of the child’s legal guardian, please contact us at privacy@transsion.com, and we will delete the relevant information as soon as possible. If we discover that we have collected a child’s personal information without first obtaining verifiable guardian consent, we will also endeavor to delete the relevant content as soon as possible.

How We Store and Protect Your Personal Information

1. How We Store Your Personal Information

We store personal information collected based on your consent in accordance with the applicable national laws and regulations on personal privacy and data protection. Where not prohibited by local laws and regulations, we may also store the personal information we collect in countries or regions outside the country in which the relevant business operates.

Currently, Linki may store your personal information in Singapore and Russia. Specifically:

Personal information collected and generated through our operations in Russia will be stored on servers located in Russia.

Personal information collected and generated outside Russia will be stored on servers located in Singapore.

We retain personal information in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements concerning data storage. We also consider the nature, scope, and purposes of personal information processing, the risks that may arise in processing, and the severity of the consequences if harm occurs, and implement necessary security safeguards. For example, we use encryption and de-identification to store the personal information we collect. We retain information for the shortest period required for our business purposes, unless you consent to a longer retention period or the law permits it. Once the retention period expires, or if you request deletion, we will delete the data or take other appropriate measures, provided that doing so does not violate applicable laws and regulations.

2. How We Protect Your Personal Information

We also take other necessary measures to protect the security of your personal information and prevent misuse, unauthorized access, and unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

We implement security safeguards designed to protect your personal information and regularly monitor our systems for potential vulnerabilities and attacks. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, taking into account the nature of the information, the manner in which it is processed, and its security. We continually work to improve these safeguards to keep your personal data secure.

Of course, please note that no measure, however comprehensive, can absolutely guarantee that a data-storage security incident will not occur. If a security breach occurs, we will report it to the appropriate regulatory authorities as required by applicable laws and regulations and, in accordance with the requirements of those authorities, provide information such as the types of personal data involved in the breach, the number of data subjects affected, the possible consequences of the breach, and the remedial measures we propose to take. We will take all reasonably possible measures to remedy or mitigate the harm and consequences caused by the breach. Where permitted or required by law, we will promptly inform you of the consequences or material harm that the breach may cause you, so that you can take appropriate measures in a timely manner to protect your rights as fully as possible.

Because no website, Internet transmission, computer system, or wireless connection is completely secure, users must also strengthen their awareness of privacy and security risks in addition to the necessary security safeguards we implement. For example, when our Services redirect you to third-party websites, links, products, or services, please exercise great caution and carefully read the terms and conditions of those websites, links, products, or services regarding the security of any data they collect. We assume no legal responsibility for data-security issues caused by such third parties. If you discover that any content, advertisement, or function on our websites, products, or services may be provided by a third party and may endanger your privacy or security, please contact us promptly. We will give the matter priority in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

How We Share, Transfer, and Disclose Your Personal Information

When sharing, transferring, or disclosing your personal information, we follow the principles and requirements of minimization, necessity, and legal compulsion. We generally do not share, transfer, or disclose your personal information externally. However, where applicable laws and regulations apply or permit, we may share, transfer, or disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:

1. How We Share Your Personal Information

We do not sell any personal information to third parties.

As required to provide the Services, we may share necessary personal information with authorized third-party partners (including technical service providers, data storage service providers, and after-sales service providers) to perform certain functions or provide you with better services and user experience. For example, to enable you to share information on third-party platforms, use location services, or use other diverse services and functions, we may embed software development kits (SDKs) or other similar applications from authorized partners in the Software (which we subject to strict security checks to protect data security). We conduct such sharing in accordance with the principles of minimization, necessity, and legal permission. Before sharing information, we enter into strict confidentiality agreements with authorized partners and require them to process personal information in accordance with this Policy and applicable laws in your jurisdiction, using appropriate confidentiality and security measures. We also require them to provide data-security capabilities and information-security qualifications (such as classified protection assessments and information security management systems). When we embed an authorized partner’s SDK or other similar application in the Software, we exercise due care in notifying you and require the SDK that obtains information to protect the security of your data. Specifically:

To provide evaluation, analysis, or other business services, we may also share your non-personal information with third parties. For example, we may use aggregated information to help partners (such as advertising service providers) understand the effectiveness, feedback, and usage trends of their services.

In connection with a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy liquidation, asset transfer, or other related transaction, if personal information is transferred, we will require the company or organization that newly holds your personal information, through an agreement or other appropriate measures, to continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy and to process personal information using confidentiality and security measures no less stringent than those required under this Policy.

2. How We Transfer Your Personal Information

Linki will not transfer your information to any other party except in the following circumstances:

(1) We have obtained your express consent.

(2) If Linki is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of its assets that may affect your personal information, we will issue a prominent notice by email and/or on our website or by other appropriate means to inform you of any changes in the ownership of your personal information, your rights, and the choices available to you regarding your personal information.

3. How We Disclose Your Personal Information

Linki may need to disclose your personal information in response to legal requirements, legal proceedings, litigation, and/or requests from government departments and authorities. (3) Other third parties, for example, where you authorize the disclosure of specified information.

How Your Personal Information Is Transferred Across Borders

For the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, after complying with applicable laws and regulations in your region and obtaining your authorization and consent, we may transfer your personal information to the resources or servers referred to in Section 3 of this Policy for storage or processing. We may also transfer your personal information to third-party service providers and business partners, and your data may therefore be transferred to other countries or regions. The privacy laws of those countries or regions may differ, and the jurisdictions in which those servers are located may or may not protect personal information to the same standards as your jurisdiction. Nevertheless, we will continue to endeavor to comply with this Privacy Policy to protect your personal information and will carry out cross-border transfers and other processing of personal information in accordance with the legal requirements of the country or region where the personal information is located.

If we transfer personal information outside your jurisdiction, whether to an affiliate or a third-party service provider, we will comply with applicable laws. We will take appropriate security and protective measures to ensure that all such transfers comply with applicable local data-protection laws.

Your Rights in Relation to Your Personal Information

As a data subject, you have a range of rights in relation to your personal information, including the rights to confirm, access, correct, delete, withdraw consent, and lodge complaints (collectively, “Requests”). We fully understand and respect these rights. Under applicable law, these rights may also be subject to specific exclusions and exceptions. We take proactive measures to ensure that these rights are effectively protected. However, please understand that, for security reasons, we may need to verify your identity before processing your Request. In principle, we do not charge a fee for legitimate and reasonable Requests. However, for repeated Requests or Requests that exceed reasonable limits, we may charge a reasonable fee based on actual administrative costs, to the extent permitted by applicable law. We may refuse Requests that are unjustifiably repetitive, require excessive technical measures (for example, the development of a new system or a fundamental change to existing practices), create risks to the lawful rights and interests of others, are highly impractical, or violate mandatory legal requirements.

6.1 Right to Confirmation and Access: Through this Privacy Policy or a privacy policy or notice applicable to a specific product or service scenario, we inform you how we collect and process personal information. You have the right to confirm or refuse such collection and processing, including by checking a box. If you refuse, some functions that require your express authorization and consent may become unavailable. You may directly view the personal information you have provided to us through the interface of our products or services. If the information cannot be viewed there, you may email privacy@transsion.com. We will process your request promptly after receiving your email.

6.2 Right to Correction and Deletion: If your personal information changes, or if you discover that the personal information we collect and process is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to require us to correct or supplement it. You may directly correct or modify some of your personal information on the relevant function pages of the product or service. If the purpose for which we collected your personal information has been achieved or the information is no longer necessary, or if you discover that we have collected or processed your personal information in violation of laws, administrative regulations, or this Privacy Policy, you have the right to require us to delete the relevant personal information. For personal information for which we do not currently provide a correction or deletion channel, you may request correction or deletion by contacting privacy@transsion.com.

However, in some circumstances we may not approve your deletion request. For example, if you ask us to delete transaction data that Linki is legally required to retain to comply with applicable local laws. Please also note that if you request deletion of your information from our products and services, certain applicable local laws and technical limitations may prevent us from immediately deleting the corresponding information from backup systems. However, we will securely store your personal information and prevent further processing until the backup system is updated and your information can be deleted or anonymized.

6.3 Right to Withdraw Consent: To provide the corresponding functions of our different products or services, we require necessary personal information in accordance with applicable local laws. This is explained under “How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy. You may withdraw consent previously granted to us for a specific purpose by deleting information, disabling device functions, or submitting a request to withdraw consent, including consent to the collection, use, and/or disclosure of your personal information in our possession or control. You may contact us by email at privacy@transsion.com to take the relevant action. We will process your request within a reasonable period after you submit it, and thereafter we will no longer collect, use, and/or disclose your personal information in accordance with your request.

If you withdraw consent, you may no longer be able to access some and/or all functions of Linki products and services. Withdrawal of your consent or authorization will not affect the validity of processing activities previously carried out based on your consent.

6.4 Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint by contacting us at privacy@transsion.com. We will respond promptly after receiving your complaint. If you are dissatisfied with our response, particularly if our personal-information processing has harmed your lawful rights and interests, you may also lodge a complaint or report with the local statutory personal data protection authority or bring proceedings before a court of competent jurisdiction.

6.5 Right to Manage Privacy Settings

You have the right to control your privacy settings. Through these settings, you can restrict our collection, use, disclosure, or processing of your personal information. For example, you may enable or disable the functions and permissions for “Location Access,” “Camera,” and “SMS.” You may also obtain more detailed information about the security status of your device in “Settings.” If you previously agreed to grant the relevant permissions or consented to our use of your personal information for the foregoing business scenarios, you may change your decision by disabling the relevant settings under Settings > App Management > Permission Management, or by contacting us at privacy@transsion.com.

6.6 Right to Cancel Services or an Account

You may request cancellation of your account through the cancellation path provided in the Services or by contacting us at privacy@transsion.com. Please exercise caution when cancelling your account. You acknowledge and understand that, after you cancel your account, we will also cease providing the products and services associated with that account. Unless the laws applicable in your region impose special requirements, we will also delete the corresponding personal data under your account. If you log in to the Services using authorization from a third-party account, please apply to the third party to cancel that account.

6.7 Rights in Certain Jurisdictions

Please note in particular that, under the applicable laws of certain jurisdictions, you may have the following data-subject rights:

Right to Restrict Processing. You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal information. We will consider the grounds for your restriction request. If the grounds meet the requirements of applicable data-protection laws, we will process your personal information only as permitted under those laws and will notify you before lifting the restriction on processing.

(2) Right Regarding Automated Decision-Making. You have the right to object to information processing based on automated decision-making, including profiling and other automated processing that may produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

(3) Right to Data Portability. You have the right to request that your personal information be transmitted to another data controller in a structured and commonly used format.

We have the right to refuse to process your Request and may refuse certain Requests where an applicable exemption applies or where permitted by applicable law. For example, a Request may be manifestly unfounded or excessive, or may require the disclosure of third-party information.

Third-Party Service Providers and Their Services

When you use Linki products or services, you may receive links to third-party websites or content and services provided by third parties other than us, and some third-party products or services may be provided through SDKs or other means. You may decide for yourself whether to access or accept websites, products, and services provided by third parties. Our Privacy Policy does not apply to any products or services provided by third parties. Because we cannot exercise substantive control over third parties, we cannot be responsible for their collection and processing of your personal information. Before submitting any information to a third party, please carefully review that third party’s privacy policy and take care to protect your personal information.

Supplements and Updates to This Policy

We reserve the right to update or amend this Policy from time to time in response to changes in our business, technology, applicable laws, and operations. If this Policy is amended, we will publish the latest version here (on this page) or notify you separately. Please review this page or the notices we send you regularly to stay informed of updates to this Privacy Policy. Although this Privacy Policy may be adjusted, we will not reduce the rights you enjoy under this Privacy Policy without your express consent.

When we collect additional personal information from you or use or disclose your personal information for a new purpose, we will again seek your express consent in accordance with applicable law. If you continue to use the products and services on a website, mobile device, and/or any other device, you will be bound by the updated Privacy Policy.

The content of the Linki products or services described in this Agreement may vary depending on the type of product you use, the system version, or the requirements of local laws and regulations.
